I thought of a lot of cartoon snakes, mice, rats, and bats before settling on this. My first idea was Aspen as Rattlesnake Jake, but Rango wasn't enough of a splash to make waves eight years later. I considered Ivy as Bianca from The Rescuers, but that's a cult classic at best. Quite a few animal characters wear nothing and thus don't lend themselves to recognizable outfits. Some, like Minnie Mouse, would require dye jobs that threaten the recognition of my own cast. And there just aren't many bats in fiction.
