There's a good reason I rarely have strips featuring only Kody. He was never designed to be interesting on his own. Any animal humor he provides is indirect, and he's not exactly cute. But strips like this can be handy, both for fleshing him out a little more and for taking a break from what's happening elsewhere. That was especially important back when Aspen and Virgil were the only other recurring characters.
