I figured that while the news about the Colorado city was bad (for both humans and bears), no reader would shed tears over it. If I figured wrong and you find this filler insensitive, I apologize.

I'd been planning to go ahead with a story strip, but when I saw the headline and immediately thought of my Aspen -- even took a moment to realize what they meant -- I couldn't resist saving a newspaper copy to scan.

And curiously enough, the first thing I noticed was that the date was 9/9/9.
