I've read advice that you shouldn't be mindful not to use certain common expressions around people with disabilities. For example, when talking to a blind person, don't shy away from "See what I mean?" just because they can't literally see. They're liable to feel more upset at you for stumbling on their behalf.

Of course, Aspen doesn't see herself as having disabilities or deformities. To her, talk of feet seems more speciesist than ableist.
