At the time of this strip, I subscribed to the half-plus-seven rule: The younger person in a relationship should be at least seven years more than half the older person's age. Of course, this has limitations. Maybe you're OK with the implication that no one under 14 should start a relationship, but in later years, it gets ridiculous. When I'm 57, I won't date a centenarian.
