Boy, did this get mixed reactions. Not everyone understood right away that that's a human hand, even with the Metamorphosis paraphrasing for a hint. Some who did get it took the narration too seriously and believed that the comic's "reality" had moved into shark-jumpy territory. It is rather my fault for the deceptive narration and lack thereof after this point.
